Abstract In recent years, the analysis of development conditions during the operation phase has gained attention, specially using Building Information Modeling (BIM). In this context, this research aims to delineate the frontiers of knowledge and identify future research directions with regard to the uses of BIM for the management, operation and maintenance of facilities. A mixed review method was employed, which combined scientometric analysis and a systematic literature review. To conduct the review, 4050 publications were initially retrieved from the Scopus database, which were filtered using the PRISMA protocol and resulted in 1004 publications to be analyzed. The frequency of sources and citations and the networks of co-occurrence of keywords, co-authorship of authors and countries composed the first analysis. Then, the systematic analysis of the data set was carried out, grouping the surveys into eight different categories. As a result, it was possible to identify that the field “BIM for management, operation and maintenance of facilities” is growing and that the purposes of application in this area have been expanded, in addition to there being a promising association of emerging technologies with BIM for this purpose.

Resumo Nos últimos anos a análise das condições de empreendimentos durante a fase de operação tem ganhado atenção, inclusive com o uso do Building Information Modeling (BIM). Neste âmbito, esta pesquisa tem por objetivo delinear as fronteiras do conhecimento e identificar direções de pesquisa futuras no que diz respeito aos usos do BIM para fins de gestão, operação e manutenção de instalações. Foi empregado um método misto de revisão que associou a análise cientométrica e revisão sistemática da literatura. Para condução da revisão inicialmente foram identificadas 4050 publicações da base de dados Scopus, que foram filtrados por meio do protocolo PRISMA e resultaram em 1004 publicações a serem analisadas. A frequência de fontes e citações e as redes de coocorrência de palavras-chave, de coautoria e de países compuseram a primeira análise. Em seguida, a análise sistemática do conjunto de dados foi realizada com o agrupamento das pesquisas em oito categorias diferentes. Como resultado, foi possível identificar que o campo “BIM para gestão, operação e manutenção das instalações” está em crescimento e que as finalidades de aplicação neste âmbito têm sido ampliadas, além de haver uma associação promissora das tecnologias emergentes com o BIM para este fim.

ABSTRACT Private banking is one of the most profitable services offered by financial institutions in Brazil. In this service, a client should consider the suitability of a range of banking product, during his or her life based on dynamic objectives. It is a very complex service that involves regulation from governmental agencies, financial institutions’ interests, and clients’ objectives. It is not uncommon for these aspects to be conflicting, hindering the decision-making process and leading to unwanted decisions. This paper describes the development of a decision support system (DSS) for private banking, called OptPrivate, that integrates the suitability assessment with the portfolio selection, enabling the investor to choose a portfolio based on several and conflicting objectives. The DSS considers the investment selection problem in two interconnected subproblems: suitability and capital allocation. In the former, the DSS is based on an integrated modeling approach that considers legal aspects and investors’ preferences throughout a fuzzy multiple-attribute decision-making approach (MADM), called FTOPSIS-Class. In the latter, a fuzzy multi-objective optimization model uses the sorting results from the previous step to define a portfolio, simultaneously considering risk, return, and the investor’s profile. To facilitate the DSS application, linguistic variables are used in several aspects of the decision-making process, including risk exposure. The DSS was validated using field tests at a well-respected private bank in Brazil. The DSS recommends more suitable portfolios, in line with the investor’s profile, with greater profitability and less volatility than those recommended by the financial analysts for all test cases.

ABSTRACT Brazil's location and tropical weather conditions are favourable cultivating sugarcane, which has led to Brazil being one of the world's largest producers of sugarcane. The influence of the sugarcane industry on its economy stands out among the indicators of Brazilian economic growth and because the diversified investment when planning the production of products derived from this sector is encouraged. The decision on which derivative (for example, crystal sugar, anhydrous ethanol, or hydrous ethanol) to produce from raw sugarcane can be modelled as an investment decision in a portfolio decision problem whenever a combination of these products is considered. As to the future price of these commodities, raw sugarcane is considered to be capital that should be invested. Thus, this paper puts forward a decision model which uses concepts from Decision Analysis and Bayesian Risk Analysis that may well assist the process of managing assets in the Brazilian sugarcane industry by considering the financial aspect when compiling a portfolio for planning production.

Este trabalho apresenta um modelo para otimizar ganhos competitivos de uma organização advindos da implantação de Sistemas de Informação (SI), atuando em sua priorização. Este artigo aborda parte de um processo mais amplo, o planejamento de SI, em que serão considerados aspectos estratégicos da organização e outros, relacionados à criticidade de processos que se associam aos Agrupamentos de Informações. A consideração destes aspectos estratégicos, táticos e operacionais será valorada através de uma função de valor aditivo. Neste trabalho é feita alusão a um modelo publicado anteriormente, ao qual serão acrescentadas mudanças na forma como é feita a escolha dos sistemas a serem priorizados, aplicando-se o uso de programação inteira para obter uma ótima solução para o problema de priorização. Ao final do trabalho é apresentado um estudo de caso ilustrando o uso do modelo, em que ele pode ser avaliado.

This work presents a model to optimize Information Systems (IS) organizational payoffs from new investments regarding the process of choosing which projects should be implemented. The paper starts with a wider process, which is IS planning, in which organizational strategic and other technical aspects are considered. To evaluate these aspects, an additive value function taken from another published model is used, which is subsequently adapted to take into account different situations that may occur during the choice process. These adaptations will include the use of integer programming to achieve an optimal solution for this prioritization problem. At the end of the paper, the adapted model will be demonstrated in a case study where it will be possible to observe the different situations that motivated this new model.

Este artigo apresenta uma modelagem de um problema de decisão no mercado financeiro onde se deseja escolher um portfólio de investimentos de forma a minimizar o risco, utilizando indicadores econômicos para predizer investimentos futuros baseados em dados históricos. O modelo de decisão é baseado na teoria da decisão e análise bayesiana caracterizado por sua estrutura matemática. Em seguida apresenta-se um estudo de caso no mercado financeiro brasileiro considerando dados de Janeiro de 1998 a Junho de 2005.

This study presents one approach to investing in the financial markets using a decision theory point of view, where the main decision is to choose an investment portfolio, based on economic indexes, in order to predict future investments based on historical data, which minimizes the risk involved. The decision model is based on Decision Theory and Bayesian Analysis and the application uses Brazilian financial market data from January 1998 to June 2005 as an input.
